What We’re About

Love

We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19), and we love you because He loves you (1 John 4:11). Our goal is for everything we do to come out of love for God and for people.

Hope

No matter what we go through in this life, we never give up hope. That’s because our hope isn’t based in this life, or even on this Earth. Our hope is in heaven and the One who lives there (Colossians 1:5).

Belonging

Every single one of us has a purpose. Every member of God’s body, His church, (Colossians 1:18), has a purpose (1 Corinthians 12:14-27). We all belong, we are all important, we have found our home.

Trust

Because of everything He’s given us, we trust God. We trust that He cares for us, that He knows what we’re going through, that He hurts when we hurt. We trust that Jesus is coming back someday to take us home. In this trust, we find Peace.

Worship

Because of everything He’s given us, we worship Him. As Isaiah 12:5 says, “Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things.” He’s given His Son, His love, and His church. He’s given us everything, so we give Him the glory.

Service

Because of everything He’s given us, we serve. We serve Him and we serve our fellow man. Just as Jesus “did not come to be served, but to serve” (Matthew 20:28), we want to humbly “through love serve one another” (Galatians 5:13).

What The Bible Says

About Itself

The Bible is the sole authority in everything we do. It claims to be from God, and because of that, we strive to live and worship by its commands, as well as rejecting all human creeds (Galatians 1:8-9; Revelation 22:18-19).

About Worship

The Bible teaches that there are five different “acts of worship.” Because of that, every Sunday in our worship assembly, we perform all five:

  1. We sing (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16)
  2. We pray (1 Tim. 2:8)
  3. We take the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7)
  4. We give (1 Cor. 16:2)
  5. We preach/study (Acts 20:7; Rom. 10:14)

About Going to Heaven

The Bible teaches that that there’s nothing man can do to earn God’s salvation (Ephesians 2:9). If we had a million years on earth, we could never earn salvation through our good deeds. But Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” We couldn’t earn salvation, so God gave the greatest gift ever given: Jesus Christ, His Son. That is the Grace of God. That grace is what allows us to be saved (Ephesians 2:8).

However, the Bible gives us six “steps of salvation,” conditions God has told us we must meet before we can live with Him in heaven for eternity.

  1. Hear the Word (Romans 10:17)
  2. Believe that Jesus is the Son of God (John 8:24)
  3. Repent (turn away from) sins and strive to be like Jesus (Luke 13:3)
  4. Confess that you have sinned (Romans 10:9-10)
  5. Be baptized in water (1 Peter 3:21)
  6. Remain faithful (Acts 2:42)
